Randy Mathews told me that his brother Mark, (John's Pops) had a run in with a buck...

Seems that Mark shot the buck, and when he went over to him, the buck jumped up and started dancing on top of Mark's chest, and hooked him a few times.

Mark had hand to hand combat, (armed with a knife) with the deer, Mark won, but ended up in the hospital with punctured lung, and gored thru the hand....

Lmfao! Looks like Uncle Randy's talent at stretching the truth really shows here haha. My Dad DID in fact have a deer hunting accident. But no punctured lung or goring took place. While trying to finish a deer off. The deer struggled and he cut his own thumb during the struggle with his own knife. Severed the tendon in the top of the thumb. Had surgery to reattach it and has since been all good. Just a freak accident. (Just wanted to clear it up to be safe) haha. But I too agree. He needs to make a come back already. But I'm quiet certain that he will be back full swing with all of us again soon.
