I'm a little confused, here's why. On Hydroracer, there were a couple of posts that refferred to an NBRA race in Pineville, being confirmed... Then Doc Miller responded to a post from John Mathews (who was asking about AOF dates), Doc asked John if he wanted to put on a race in Pineville, and that there was money available for it. John responded that as far as he knew, that race in Pineville was already set, but he would be happy to help. There was no response from Doc. Then I posted to the same thread and said "Doc I am confused, I too thought that that race was a done deal?" There was no response from Doc. So, it was kind of a "drive by" comment from Doc that got no explaination. Now, I still wonder about the Pineville race? Signed, Baffled in Brenham

I' sorry to be so nonresponsive...I got a email from John which he told me Randy was working on the race on the 19-20 of May. There is some rumor that the race site maybe on the river and not Lake Bulow. Most of us, love the lake and would be concern if it was schedule on the river. There is some festival being held that weekend which maybe held near the river. We will have to get further clarification on the location. Looking at John's test with Randy's Super E, you can see what a great place Lake Bulow is, the water was like a mirrow. Dudley and I are still working on Stigler, Holdenville and a race here on Grand lake. I know we will have allot of racing this next year. We got Braxton's 302 from Dudley this weekend and the lower unit is at Tom Cronk's. We have ordered a collapsable steering bar and adjustable thrust bracket from Alan Brown. Our B Mod boat is still in Nortern Indiana being repaired after a crash that occured when we loaned it to run the 25mod hydro class. We are wondering if the Sorenson runabout will handle a 80 with pipes. The speed is about the same with a omc, but there is thirty more lbs on the transom. Dudley put new rings in our B motor, but it would have to be greatly improve to beat our Webster B motor. The B mod class was last run at Centralia two years ago when the Indiana club came to race at our Nationals. This class runs as fast as the CMod, but does not acclerate as fast. It seems to turn allot of R's, more than the 302. Have a Merry one....

I talk to Randy yesterday. He is getting to everyone, wanting a date that the maximum of people will come. He likes the May 20-21 date, a week before memorial weekend. He said that the race would be held on lake Bulow. There is a possibility that there will be good prize and tow money. I spent the day traveling to Mcalester and Lake Holdenville. They are both good race site with plenty of pitts(well, there is never enough) There is a small park on the east side of the lake that has good pits and would be close to the course. Depending which way the wind blow, the course can be set in either east-west or north-south. The Holdenville Lake is much like Mansfield, with good protection from the wind and small enough to not have wind problems. This race is tentitive and I will have an answer by Jan. 15. It's has sandy beaches all around the lake, but has a short run to the first turn...reminds me of Stillwater, but with better pits. We are working on Stigler for the next two weekend and if all falls through, maybe a race here in Grove..:)

I was with him at a casino in Louisiana that night, we talked a little about racing, and he didn't mention a thing about that....

Mark, It looks good for '12, but you and Randy aught to talk more and not throw so much dice, spin the wheel or pull the lever. I wish he was on the beach and was talking more...He did say Dan the Pres. was involved in talking to someone who was the promoter of the local event..

Glad to hear it Doc.... Take my word for it, being with Randy Mathews at a casino, is a rare and unforgetable experience.... not to mention, it is near impossible to get a word in edge-wise....
