Congratulations to the folks in the Pacific Northwest, who successfully merged NW Water with Montana Outboard Racing folks to create the latest NBRA-affiliated club. The paperwork isn't finished yet, but MORA has elected officers and board members and will be presenting a race proposal at the annual meeting Saturday.

I know Mike and Theresa Phillips and Roy Mackey have spent some long hours on this project, but it's paying off!

Welcome to NBRA!!!!

We were happy to get the vote of confidence at the national meeting..My biggest worry is that we have enough boats show up.. I know if folks can make it we will show them a great time foresure!! We will be posting a full break down of the event planned soon.. I would say if you are planning on coming make your reservations soon..We will post all of this info on HR to

Jeff I know you guys are way faster and so does our club we use to be a part of so now there solution is to not come to the race..We will work on Seattle guys to come and give you a run for your money..It should be interesting to see East vs West.. All in good fun! I think we already have more boats coming in 2012 than in the past two years..If we get some more sponsors we may have purse money to!!

Since we are a small club just getting started we would sure appreciate some help running the race. Don't be bashfull. All help and volunteers will be welcome.

I am a little confused about your club members not coming to this race. Most of the racers in the NBRA are in the Midwest, Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas. Oklahoma, Missouri, Iowa etc. and this race is 1500 to over 2000 miles for most of the guys and you are saying local racers don't want to show up because they are afraid Jeff is going to outrun them. Something doesn't make sense to me. There must have been a split on the NBRA membership in your club. I was planning on going but if all we are going to race against is people that come from the Midwest I can do that at home. What is the real story?????

I couldn't get any reply on my last post so I guess I try another. I understand we are going to have straight- away records. I guess we are going to use the equipment that Vernon bought last year. I think we should try it out at some race site before the Montana race to understand how it operates. Nothing official just to get familiar with it.

Doc how is the starter plate working out??? I haven't heard from you.

l sent you a private message, but it didn't make it, if you have not hear from me.  At first, I thought they would not fit on top of our starter plates, but I believe they will.  Rick, is looking at them and he will respond.  Will a stainless steel bolt be strong enough to with stand the torque..?The OMC bolts are quite small.  We have bought a starter and a new battery, My shoulder has not be able to start a motor in a while....

I don't think you will have any problem with the bolts. The old Mer just have three 1/4 bolts and people are not having any problem with the starter.. I like to use allen bolts they are stronger than the run of the mill stainless bolts. You will like the electric starter the best thing I have bought in years.

Larry the club we use to race with is the only AOF club in the west after the latest split.. We will have our group that split off, a few folks from the AOF club  are still coming and a few Seattle folks and some Widbey Island folks will still be coming. We have also acquired some more tow money to go with the NBRA money.

This area is beautiful and they will have a great BBQ and dancing and drinking on Saturday and a boat show on Friday,, Also they are planning kind of a carnival Saturday for kids..

I am not sure but I think Roy has timing equipment and we hope to test it in May at our first test session..

I will have more info after January when we have another club meeting

Well we have more news.. Our group that we normally race with voted today to join the fun so we have almost 30 more boats coming..So if you want RV or rooms you really need to keep making the reservations NOW! The place really fills up fast on race weekend..These folks like there boat races and we had a lot of compliments on our float in the local parade..Let us know if they say there is no more room and we will give you contacts in Thompson Falls..Unfortunately that is 21 miles away and there is a place that takes no reservations that is 1.5 miles away for RV's.

This is shaping up to be a really big race..

Watch for more info here and on Hydroracer.

I am happy to see that more people are going to make this race. I don't care what organization you race with a good turnout and show can only help boat racing in general. It sounds like you people are working hard to make this a success.

Thanks

Congrats , you guys have found the winning combination , lots of preperations , planning , lots of activities  and , scheduling ,     This takes a plain vanilla race and turns it into something no one will want to miss .  Super job for your first NBRA race .  All races should be an event or FESTIVAL ,   Bigger the better .   Lots of exposure ....  Have you got the local TV and radio stations on board ?   They can help in a big way for announcements .....  Don't   forget  to have a great announcer to keep the heartbeat of the event rolling ....  The way this sounds  i might come out of retirement to make a few laps .                       :)
