This  year's annual meeting is set November 5, at the Holiday Inn Kansas City Airport, with a tip-of-our-hat to the founding of NBRA in Kansas City in 2001.

While we're not going back to the Marriott, the Holiday Inn has worked with us for a very affordable, up-to-date venue, close to the airport -- with free shuttle service running every  hour on the hour to KCI from the hotel.

Room rates are $79 (Be sure to mention "NBRA Boat Race Annual Meeting" to get your rate when making reservations). For reservations, call (816) 801-8400.

We've blocked 30 rooms for the nights of November 4 - 5, and we have a meeting room centrally located in the hotel to the lobby and restrooms for Saturday, November 5, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.   We have that room again in the evening from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. for the awards banquet.

There will be no buffet or sit-down meal, given the costs of such things and the service charges that go with them, but instead we'll use the Kem's Restaurant in the hotel to allow everyone to order off the menu for whatever meal size/cost they choose. In the past, there's been a wide-spread feeling the sit-downs and buffets have "not been worth what they cost" and I have to agree (knowing how the travel industry lives on company expense accounts, and how we as boat racers do not.)

During the award ceremony there will be a cash bar available, to allow those who wish to partake of adult beverages to do so, without saddling all members with a liquor bill.

This year's annual meeting will be filled with important business, so be sure to write down your concerns and ideas and bring them along, or if you can't make it, be sure to pass them along to your commissioner. Jason Sumrall and I look forward to conducting the club's business in an efficient and expeditous manner, and getting on visiting and enjoying the distribution of awards and prize money.
