Got a call from Becky Hawkins this morning telling me Artie Lund died early today as a complication of cancer. He had been undergoing chemo for some time.

Don't know any other details.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Lund family.

I remember the first time I met Artie ( with the handle bar mustache) was at a AOF National in Oklahoma. I thought he was someone from England!!  I know when they came to a race nobody had any better time than they did camping and eating out. Artie liked to tell stores and he was a good story teller. He liked to tell about the time when the plug blew out of the head on his D motor at the National at Alex. Well he didn't have time to do much to fix it so I gave him some 2 part epoxy mix and he epoxyed the plug back in and ended up wining D Hydro ( Kevin came in second). He was a colorful guy and will be missed.
